CLOTHE Sew at Home

The first CLOTHE Sew at Home Pattern is ready

Its been a looong time coming, so many twists and turns along the way- lockdowns, a new baby, the yoyo of self doubt..  Now it’s finally here in front of me - and that makes me so happy!  I am absolutely thrilled to contribute to this thriving sewing community.  Let this be just the first of many patterns to come!

Working on this project has been a real lesson in self restraint for me. Learning how to focus on one thing at a time instead of being constantly distracted by shiny things.  Recently I’ve tried to stay off social media, which has helped me stay on track and actually finish this thing!  The more time I spend scrolling - the more creatively crippled I become.  Being able to just “do” has been really productive, and allowed me to just do what feels right, and stop questioning it.

That restraint has also carried over to the pattern I’ve created.. It is pared back and simple in design. I wanted it to be accessible to anyone interested in giving sewing a crack!  I also wanted to keep it simple in essence, so that I could spend the time getting my sizing right, and all the little components that go along with it - you would be surprised how much work goes into creating one of these!

So,  here it is, The Agata Top.  It combines the ease of a simple sew, with the impact of a bold silhouette - resulting in the ultimate elevated wardrobe essential.  Beyond its simple base, there are many opportunities to explore and manipulate into new and exciting designs. When you become the designer of your own handmade wardrobe, there are endless opportunities to create!  Can’t wait to see all of your makes!!
